Shift Relaxation Therapy™ (SRT) is a neuro-somatic relaxation practice designed to support the body's natural ability to shift out of stress and into recovery. Through gentle, intentional contact, co-regulation is supported, allowing the body to settle and return to balance. Sessions invite stress chemistry to ease and the body to settle and rest without effort.

Each session follows a framework of light contact at specific access points on or just above the body, areas linked to the body's calming and regulatory systems, that support relaxation and ease. This gentle approach supports a gradual shift from stress toward a more settled, restorative state. 
As the nervous system downshifts, the body naturally relaxes, muscles soften, breathing slows, and rest becomes accessible. When the body feels safe, the mind eases, allowing a deeper level of inner awareness to rise naturally.

The Experience
Sessions are deeply calming. Some clients notice sensations such as warmth, heaviness, lightness, or subtle bodily awareness, while others drift into a meditative or sleep-like state. Many people leave feeling grounded, calm, mentally lighter, and more present. 


Shift Relaxation Therapy is a non-invasive practice that complements other wellness and self-care approaches, supporting stress reduction, emotional balance, and overall well-being. Sound or gentle vibration may be included to support relaxation and integration.

What This Work Can Support
Shift Relaxation Therapy™ (SRT) is offered as a supportive practice for restoring and maintaining steadiness in the body and mind, especially when the body has difficulty fully settling or resetting on it own. 

Sessions are often chosen during periods of disruptive rest, emotional fluctuation such as anxiety or grief, or times of physical recovery, including injury or surgery.

SRT is also used as intentional support in preparation for pregnancy, medical care, or other periods of increased physical, mental or emotional demand. 
After a Session
​Many clients feel calmer, lighter, and more grounded after a session. Some notice a sense of mental clarity or deep rest, while others experience subtle shifts in how the body feels or responds. The effects of a session may continue to unfold over time as the body integrates the experience.

Aftercare & Integration
Ater a session, allowing time for rest and gentle integration can help extend the benefit of the session as the body continues to settle. 
  • Rest and hydrate
  • Limit unnecessary screen time
  • Avoid over-scheduling or added stress when possible
  • Spend time in nature or grounding environments
  • Journal or reflect on your experience
  • Engage in gentle movement as needed
Many clients find sessions have a cumulative effect and choose to schedule ongoing support.

Shift Relaxation Therapy™ is now offered in place of Reiki. While the experience itself feels the same, the way it is understood has shifted. SRT approaches the work through a neuro-somatic lens, focusing on how the body raturally settles, regulates, and returns to balance in calm supportive conditions. The care, pacing, and quality of the session remain unchanged. 

* SRT sessions are approximately 50 minutes in duration with time before and after for consultation. Sessions are conducted fully clothed laying on an treatment table. Our sessions involve lightly laying hands on and/or just above the body by the practitioner to your comfort level.
